OK, those were good and I know Gina likes them.

But were the proofs appalling in terms of colour matching and general printing quality?

'Cos the ones I've just had back from them are.

The colours are way too light, and the text has a fringe where the yellow ink has slightly - but visibly - spread. In some of the solid areas of colour, you can see the dot pattern used.

There's a bit in the text with them that says "the colour will vary slightly to that shown on this proof". It'd had better, but what's the point of having a proof copy if you can't see that the colours are right?

Argh.
