I'm not sure what this says about me

While doing other stuff on the computer, I'm watching the LibDem conference, starting with Saturday.

Simon Hughes' speech on civil liberties (1h27m to 1h51m in the iPlayer file) is, as ever with him, well worth a watch. He also thanks someone a namesake of someone several of you know.

In a debate about the party constitution, there's someone I was in the Union of Liberal Students with, now with even less hair than me.

And during that debate, there's a comment by one of the delegates that a proposal risks the party being 'democracy (only) for the rich'. The person the coverage cuts to at 2h33m... that's Edward Lord, isn't it?

I've got a Pi and I'm going to use it..

If that's you, i.e. you have a Raspberry Pi and you want to use it for some hardware stuff, you may be interested to know that the Raspberry Pi Gertboard - Assembled and Raspberry Pi Piface Digital are both available on Amazon for less than £12.50 at the moment.

The Piface is smaller and has two relays, but the Gertboard is more flexible and generally more powerful, including having its own CPU. The Piface is normally around £25 and the Gertboard about £32, so the current price is very good.

Update: Oh, I see the same vendor is also selling the Raspberry Pi Pi-Face Control and Display Plug for the same price - this gives the Pi a small character display plus some buttons for inputs. I've used something similar for Arduinos...
