According to the BBC's weather site at 9am

Today was supposed to be 'sunny intervals'. Windy in the afternoon, but 'sunny intervals' throughout the day.

It started raining about 9:30, while I was cycling to work. It kept raining for at least an hour.

This afternoon, we've had a hailstorm. It was very windy.

Now, the BBC forecast is saying 'light rain shower' for this afternoon, but not as windy as they were saying this morning.
