Sessions run: One, Doing Bi Activism Wrong.

Fortunately, I couldn't get the document I prepared to load after updating the netbook's OS a day or two before leaving. (It's a native LibreOffice file, but it tries loading it and exits without any error message. It did do the spreadsheet I also brought for Continuity stuff, but not this.)

This meant having to revise what I planned and the first section, having other people give examples of things that were not as good as they could have been went very well, with lots of people saying lots, and I have had some lovely feedback about it.

Towards the end, my feelings about what someone else in particular - I don't think they've ever been to BiCon - does was apparent, and I'm aware that made at least one person uncomfortable. A conversation later has got me pondering why I find it so annoying... I used the word 'fortunately' earlier because the unreadable document reflects that even more!

Sessions attended: Eight. Being bi for longer than five years; Pride flag show and tell (I looked at two others, but they were very full and this was 'just right' in several ways); mine; Pre-DMP (pro tip: listen if people there tell you to do something with your proposal); BiCon Continuity AGM; Quick board games for new people (I was already down there, having played something in the previous slot); Bisexuality in the 70s & 80s; and Everything you wanted to know about BiCon but were afraid to ask (really useful).

There were also three or four bits of Continuity stuff, a couple of which were done in a session slot.

Sleep achieved: Enough, but I needed a zzzz on Saturday morning between slot 1 and the DMP, and while I was definitely awake enough on the way back home, I was yawning a bit.

Amongst the downsides of outsourced accommodation: silly checkout time and having to renew a parking ticket before 9:15 each morning.

People snogged: None.

People I did Rude Things with: None.

People I would have liked to do more sex-type things with but didn't: 'Would have happily done sex-type things with if they had asked', almost everyone as usual.

Hugs achieved: I don't see it as a.. contest? which is what 'achieved' makes it feel like. Some, all with wonderful people.

Songs danced to: None. I would have done the DIY Silent Disco - a truly wonderful idea - but the dance space was quite full and I was quite tired.

Parties attended: For some of us, the whole thing is a party. Party parties, none.

Games played: Castles of Burgundy (recently taught it, first game, won due to some 'I don't need this, but you do, so I will get it' tactics at the end), Zoowaboo (I knew I wanted to get a copy of this before I played it: you've got an increasing bunch of wooden animals and you all vote to say whether or not they will fit on an irregular shape. If there's a disagreement, those saying yes have a minute to prove it! It's officially for 5-18 year olds, but it's the sort of thing I love - joint winner), the 'adult' version of Codewords (harder than the normal version because there's much less variety in the words - it felt that half of the cards were synonyms for 'penis'), Flamme Rouge (smashed the flat stage, with my leadout coming second to my sprinter, then a disastrous mountain stage where they were dropped on the first climb and never came close to the rest again).

Strange food and drinks consumed when offered to me: Thank you to the flatmates who packed some chocolate avocado cake.. for my daughter.

Number of children I was responsible for: .. at BiCon, none.

Food eaten: I did the gazpacho thing again, lightly cutting my thumb in the process*, but ate less of it this year than last. Still.. Liquid! Veg! Some carb! Veg! Liquid!

In addition to that, a takeaway pizza, fruit+yogurt+museli breakfasts, some pasta+pesto, and an Aldi pizza.

People I meant to talk to, or meant to talk to more, but didn't: Better than last year, but there are lots of people I only see at things like BiCon I would happily spend more time with.

Things I didn't bring, but should have: For the first trip this year, I remembered both toothbrush and toothpaste!

I did forget the olive oil and balsamic vinegar for the gazpacho, but I got those en route.

Pages of book(s) brought that were read: None. I did renew some library books in the first mile of the journey up, but they stayed in the car.

Alcohol consumed: None.

Other recreational drugs taken: None.

Times I fell over: None.

Injuries sustained: That thumb cut.

Parrots spotted: One.

People spotted in the train station on Sunday afternoon: Came by car.

Best non-Bicon thing about the weekend: I went off site twice - once when someone wanted something from Tesco (partly to add to the 'been to the UK' experience!) and once to get some pizza when talking with someone else went past serving time in the bar.

Volunteering done (can be anything even small thing like picking up litter or buying organisers a drink): Rather less than usual at it, which was nice.

* No cutting boards and given the state of the crockery, I wasn't about to do raw food on the surfaces.
