1. Do you make up a dinner plan for the coming week?

Not really. There are usually some constraints that are known - early dinner needed on this day, the 'three courses for £3' community cafe on another - but it's usually planned on the day.

2. Do you make up a shopping list and stick to it when shopping?

Only for things that need to be got, to say that 'yes, we have run / are running out of x'. Orange juice and almonds are on it today.

3. What is one thing that you always buy, but never put down on a list?

The good museli if it's available, because it isn't always.

4. Is there anything that you always think you are out of and come home with it to discover you already have a year’s supply on hand?

I did end up with rather a lot of washing up liquid (the Aldi own brand) at one point, but went 'we have enough' and will probably not buy any more until we're completely out.

5. Do you get your groceries delivered?

No. Living ten minutes walk away from a market with plenty of food stuff on at least three days a week, an assortment of independents - central Newark has at least five butchers, for example - and a couple of large supermarkets means I do some shopping most days. Every fortnight or so, I use the car for a shop of the heavier stuff.

When we get vouchers from one of the supermarkets / a couple of others that do delivery, it's extremely difficult to get to the minimum spend. I ended up buying a lot of sun-dried tomato paste (a staple food here) a couple of months ago to get a shop up to £25.
