I was looking through some old backups for something and found my copy of Zillions of Games on one of them.

It's a program that lets you play, erm, lots of board games, including against the computer... if you or someone else tell it the rules.

As sold, that's in a programming language that's rather like Lisp (all "(do (this(now)))"!) but someone's done an alternative engine that lets you use Forth (all ": thing now this do ;"!). But for the games it's good at doing - perfect information (i.e. no hidden info ) turn-based games and puzzles - someone has probably done that bit already. (And the Forth engine can cope with things like connection games too.)

I can't remember what it used to be sold for, but it's now available on a 'pay what you like' basis, partly because the authors haven't done anything with it for a decade and aren't looking to do any more. I had version 1.3 and it was a simple decision to give them a couple of dollars for the upgrade to version 2.
