As you may have noticed if you go to charity shops, several of the chains have been getting boxes of what I am going to call 'Amazon junk' - stuff that someone has had enough of paying Amazon to store for them while it waits and waits to be sold.

That so much of it was being sent to landfill in perfectly new condition came out a few months ago, so at least some of it is now being donated. It's obviously a condition of at least some of the contracts that they can't say what the source of it is, which is slightly surprising - it'd help with Amazon's PR problems - especially as one labels them 'GIK Amazon' ('Gift in kind').

What I find interesting is how differently different shops price things, even in the same chain. I am looking a bike phone holder that I got for a quid on Friday. Today, I saw the same thing on sale for £4.

Small electronics-related stuff has been the most interesting for me. There's a £2 Bluetooth transmitter/receiver that works much better than the considerably more expensive one I got for this PC, for example, plus L's headphones now have a proper case and might survive longer, and each of the bikes has a phone holder.

Somewhere recently was doing them on a 'three for a pound' offer. That got me a tiny HDMI switch (one source to two screens, or two sources to one screen), another Bluetooth transmitter, and a lens filter for a DSLR camera...

I might have also got a phone case - both kids could do with one, as their screens show... if someone made ones for any particular model easier to find in a box of them.
