I went to see this on Saturday (matinee). Not having listened to the 1991 recording, and being somewhat of a new-comer to attending these productions, I don't really have much to compare it to!
I quite enjoyed it, but my main gripes were:
~ The awful accents. ~ Possibly it's my lack of knowledge of live productions, but many a time I couldn't understand what was being said (is it supposed to be like that?!). I was sitting in the 4th row from the front... ~ The climax was definitely lacking... ~ There was a rather overpowering smell of sawdust throughout!
