I know you have a lot of sexuality-related books. Which books on sexuality would you recommend for me to read, and why? Can be any number, and maybe in different sections, eg. bisexual, gay, ...

'Who's Had Who' (here in the UK) by Bell, Curtis (Richard: Blackadder & Four Weddings etc) and Fielding (Helen, Brigit Jones' Diary). They'd had each other and decided to do a book linking the (in)famous based on their liaisons eg President Marcos to Princess Di in about 6 links. Extremely funny.

'What Wild Ecstasy: The Rise and Fall of the Sexual Revolution' (here in the UK) by John Heidenry. 'The rise and fall of the sexual revolution' by an editor of Penthouse Forum. He's sex (and bisexual) positive, but capable of saying "this lot went a bit too far" and quite damning about those who used things like herpes to frighten people into monogamy.

'Dreams of Spring: Chinese Erotic Art' (here in the UK) Vimin with Bertholet. The former's words about the latter's collection. Normally I prefer the rawness of Japanese erotic art, so this must be good.

'The New Good Vibrations Guide to Sex' (here in the UK) Winks and Semans. The best single volume guide out there. You can argue with some of it - not would a sex toy be good for you, but how many - and they were frightened off doing photos to match the text, but still truly wonderful. I particularly like the way they do not make an issue about the gender of your partner(s). I actually paid full price for this one.

A good alternative is Sari Locker's 'Mindblowing Sex in the Real World : Hot Tips for Doing It in the Age of Anxiety' (here in the UK), which is smaller, but very diversity-positive and damn impressive for a 24 year old.

'Exhibitionism for the Shy' (here in the UK) Carol Queen. Fab from one of the goddesses of the US bi community.

'Good Sex, Real Stories from Real People' (here in the UK) Julia Hutton. Includes another, semi-anonymous, contribution from Carol in a collection of people's sexual life stories.

New Male Sexuality (here in the UK) Bernie Zilbergeld. Very good about the realities from a US sex therapist. Curiously, the bits on virginity and celibacy went in the revision.

'Shared Intimacies : Women's Sexual Experiences' (here in the UK) Barbach and Levine. Quotes from about sixty women on a diversity of topics. A bi woman, Suzanne, is the star of the book for me.

'Forbidden Flowers' (here in the UK), the second and for me the hottest of the Nancy Friday sexual fantasy books.

Saul for the dead one, although it'd be interesting to see if Harry Harrison was right about the implications of the Moors winning one battle in what's now Spain rather than losing it, so killing off someone on the Christian side would be a good alternative.

For the live one, one of the more evil dictators. North Korea's "Dear Leader" would be a good start (if you could be sure the current regime would collapse rapidly and without too much bloodshed) but there's some serious competition. See Amnesty International, not that they support assassination, for some ideas.
