Having beaten Apache2 into some sort of submission, it's now Postfix's turn and I confess that I am stuck.

I think my requirements are reasonable, but various attempts to get them met are failing, not helped by Webmin's overwriting at least one almost-working configuration.

If you know someone experienced in Postfix, I'd be very nice to them...

Ah ha, it turns out that something that the old (working) config relied on changed some years ago and now everyone assumes you know that the current version works rather differently. (And some of them are rather rude when they hear which version you're running on the old server, rather missing the point about Debian stable - it may not have the latest versions, but it sodding works and will keep on doing so for years.)

If it were me, I would have the program issue warnings in cases like this, but...
