Firefox user with lots of tabs open?

Try BarTab - an addon that, when restarting Firefox, only loads the tabs you click on, as you click on them. No more having loads of tabs trying to reload at once! No more Firefox taking a gigabyte of RAM because you have rather a lot.. unless you click on them all.

The downside is that it only works with Firefox's native session restore and not with, say, Tab Mix Plus's one. But you can switch between the two to save sessions..

Thank you [livejournal.com profile] asim, for a comment in [livejournal.com profile] yendi for the pointer.

Thanks for linking that - have been unwittingly wishing it existed for ages, and just installed it. :)

Any clue how I can make tabs go back to opening in chronological order left to right, instead of interpolating to the right of the current tab, as they suddenly are since the last update? Nothing in preferences, and this makes me sad.

Allegedly (as I'm waiting for the next Ubuntu release to update me from Firefox 3.5.8)

* Goto about:config
* Accept the anti-idiot warning
* Find browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent (You can just type in 'related'
and hit enter)
* Right click on it, and hit Toggle (This will change it from 'false' to 'true')

Ooh, that's exactly what I was looking for - thanks!

Huh. Cool. I might have to look into that.
