Everyone has that album?

I was wondering how many people actually did have some of the 'everyone has' albums I could think of. My age is probably showing in the choice - feel free to suggest some others.

A couple of the 'never had it' answers would be 'Borrowed off a friend/the library once', if that were an option. I've certainly done that with Sgt. Pepper, Tommy and What's The Story, Morning Glory?.

On an almost (but not quite) totally unrelated topic, I've said several times that Transformer is one of the very few records I'd recommend to pretty much anyone.

There is a limit to how many I wanted to list. Originally it was ten, which is why there are twelve left :)

I hate loathe and detest Grease too much to believe that anyone likes it! It's a crap musical, the only two good songs were added to the film version, and - more seriously - going to see it was the almost the only thing girls wanted to do on a date that summer. Seeing it once was ten times too many for me.

I did consider a couple of Greatest Hits albums (Abba Gold was another) but 'no, but I have the GH album' was an option in the first draft.

I must be such an 80s kid, 'cause I'm reading the list going where's Joy Division/New Order, the Cure, the Smiths, the Clash, the Jam; or the Velvet Underground, Big Star, Igy Pop, Television to go a bit further back. They're my classics, the oldies that still get played every week ...

As I've said, I was trying to avoid 'greatest hits' albums, and I still can't think of eg any Cure albums apart from the singles collection I've got. (Oh, and of that list, Big Star are 'who?' for me.)

Early 80s that didn't make the cut include Heaven 17's Penthouse and Pavement, Human League's Dare and Frankie Goes to Hollywood's first (Pleasuredome?)
