If you go to The Guardian's homepage today, what price are you offered if you click on the 'Support the Guardian' banner?
How did you feel when the 'Support through subscribing' price turned out to be fake news, and the actual price was higher? (Assuming it was: I was offered £9.99 a month, clicked to find out more and get told it's actually £11.99 a month.)

Date: 2017-05-17 09:21 am (UTC)If I click on the Subscribe link on the home page I get a INTCMP=NGW_HEADER_INT_GU_SUBSCRIBE in the URL, and then if I click through from that landing page, and scroll down and look carefully, in small print I can see it's offering me a "Digital Pack offer" free for 14 days, "Then €7.48/month for 3 months / Then €14.99 every month thereafter". When I get to the signup page, it's pre-filled a promo code for 50% off for your first 3 months.
