Chekhov's kangaroo and Matrix Resurrections

I liked The Tourist (iPlayer) - the makers know where to steal from and it's all good over the top fun. About the only minor clunk was that I don't believe someone would have said "fiancee" at one point, but apart from everything being wrapped up a little too quickly, it was very good from start to finish.

(I did say "Chekhov's kangaroo" during the first or second episode, when the perils of driving at night were first mentioned, and was delighted later on.)

I did not see Matrix Resurrections with high hopes - the previous two sequels had about half an hour (the cathedral and highway scenes) and less than five minutes (can't remember) of good bits.

It also takes quite a lot to get me to walk out of a performance, and I have stayed to the end of some real 'rolling on the floor, biting the carpet' crap.

I left this one after about forty minutes, because it had been clunk after clunk after clunk after clunk. After clunk.

I'm sure I will see the rest at some point, just to see if it does get up to the level of 'bad', but only while I can do something else.

The faneditors have been at work, and there's at least one version that loses some of the really really clunky bits. It's still not great, mind.
