LOL!
Um... I have no problem with people eating their pets as long as they're already dead :-)

Are you trying to help the fuckwit garner 2000 comments or something?

Well yes, I have no objection to the idea, I just despise attention seeking fakers.

Other peoples have practiced air burial, but I don't think you can get a license for it in the UK...

According to this page (http://www.gardenlaw.co.uk/gardenburial.html), yes.

A body comes within the definition of "clinical waste" and as such cannot be disposed of except under the provisions of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 and the Environment Protection Act 1990. A licensed operator is usually needed but a local authority may waive the requirement in special circumstances.

OMG!!!

Please tell me this is some sick joke by the author... I've never seen anything quite so sick in my life!!

Eating a pet is almost like eating a relative... this is just too horrible to even think about.

YAY!

The "I ate my dead bunny war" has SPREAD! A new life-form is born!

Quick, everybody, post! Post like the wind! Seed the war in a new journal!

Sinders, I, for one, think you are an X for thinking Y regarding the dead bunny! OMG! OMG! OMG!

Burial rights discussion to the left, please, flamers to the right, mall queens and goths, back away from each other and wait for the signal then CHARGE down the middle... NeoNazis form a human pyramid, straight memewhores, tie your sholaces, please, you're making the place look untidy... All together, now, let's cram as MANY issues into the argument as possible and maybe the thread will achieve sentience...

Umm... okay....

I was just posting my views in a friend's journal, thank you very much. Nobody here wants a stupid bunny war... leave that for the person who actually ate his pet, okay?

Okay. Sorry. I will stop being bad.

I bet he didn't eat his pet, you know.

He probably didn't... just wanted to see what response he was going to get.

Pretty nasty way to try and get loads of comments though... did you see them all?? I got to about the first couple of hundred and gave up.

It's certainly caused a bit of a stir, eh? I've noticed a few folk I know posting over there, I may go over and join the comment party. If he's going for some sort of record, he's gone about it the right way... I can see how it might upset some people, but I have to admit (though I guess you will no longer respect me) that I mostly find it extremely funny... The thing I find funniest is the po-facedness of the people actually defending him and trying to argue that he has the right to eat his own pet! I'm amazed you had the stamina to get through the first hundred, given the quality of posting! To be honest with you, to me the sheer volume of posting is of much more interest than the lapine repast...

1900 comments the most ever? This thread (http://www.livejournal.com/users/djphantasy/917.html) reached its 10,000 comment goal and has kept going, having exceeded its initial target by almost 25%. Admittedly, it's a "trying to break the record" thread so might not count, but I think some of the threads in [livejournal.com profile] news have got to over 3,000 sensible comments in the past. (From memory, the one where Brad decided to limit free users to three posts per day without prior warning generated a vast amount of traffic.)

I'm curious to know whether I know you in some other context as well as a friendsfriend through [livejournal.com profile] mhw. Given you've declared interests in Diplomacy and 18xx, might we ever have met at a board games convention in the past?

I would recognise, and have chatted several times to, Shaun Derrick and Nick Kinzett. I know the name "Ian Wilson", but can't place a face, or even one of the many faces - I keep thinking of one of the other 18xx Ians, a guy with surname something like Pendleton, who I normally find playing with Steve Jones and some of the other usual suspects. :-)
