... is getting the various 'unofficial' mixes that are otherwise unobtainable. I think I've mentioned the fabulous intermingling of the strings from Eleanor Rigby with Kraftwerk's original Tour de France, for example.

Of course, sometimes the people who do / post them don't know who or what they're using. So today's "Freelance Hellraiser - Kraftfwerk vs Whitney Houston" turns out to be New Order's Blue Monday mixed with Kylie's 'nah nah nah' Got to Get You Out of My Head.

How to realise you're getting older #271: You've got proof that not everyone can instantly recognise Blue Monday.

I'm always on the look out for those sort of tracks... what's the Elanor Rigby/Tour De France one called?

It'll be too big to go to my Live Journal address (Hotmail's 2 MB limit), but I'm sure I'll find it via Kazaa... thank you

I heard the Kylie/New Order one here on (commercial) radio the other day, so I don't know if that means it's (now) a 'legit' release - anyways, it worked surprisingly well ....

In this case, it would have to be the poster, not the creator, who didn't know what was up... there's a guy called Rich X who's done both a Kraftwerk/Whitney Houston track ("I Wanna Dance With Numbers", under the name Girls On Top) and the New Order/Kylie thing. Except, wait, I believe that Rich X masterminded Kylie actually PERFORMING "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" over a re-performance of the music from "Blue Monday" on some awards show. It's possibly that somebody else mixed the original recordings, or that Rich X did it himself but could no longer cop to it because he'd signed to EMI.

And Freelance Hellraiser had nothing to do with either track but could presumably identify "Blue Monday" himself as well.

Now that I'm about to post this I'm doubting myself, so take it with a grain of salt, but I followed the mash-up scene pretty seriously for a little while, so presumably SOME of the ideas floating around my head are accurate.
