If you want to travel outside the area ('zone') of London covered by your travelcard, you need to buy a Ticket Extension before you set off.

Your challenge is to find out, solely from the Transport for London website proclaimed as the official definitive source of such information, how much they currently cost.

Let me know how long it took...

it's possible, not being a londoner, that i fail to grasp the import of your question. but i think i found the answer on page 40 of the comprehensive fares and ticketing information pdf file linked from the fares and tickets page. and if so, it took me 3 minutes.

You mean the "You wish to travel beyond the validity of your Travelcard" section of "Fares and tickets 2004 - Comprehensive fares and ticketing information" leaflet/PDF in the Fares & Tickets section?

Nope, that just tells you to look elsewhere.

And despite calling what's required a "Ticket Extension" elsewhere, it doesn't even call it that there.

oh, so page 41 of that leaflet is talking about something else is it? (what? there is no title, so one might naively assume that they were talking about the same thing as at the bottom of page 40).
