You don't get additional paid time because of the power failure if you've got a permanent account.

In the past, permanent account holders have often been given the extra time so they can give it to someone else.

Thanks - I was ill the week before Christmas and still haven't got back 100% yet. That and a combination of being busy at home (the next stage of reorganising the house means some Sokoban-like moving of stuff around the place!) and work (including trying to make sure I have a job past March) mean I haven't chased you about that meet-up.

well if you don't pay in the first place (perm and free) then why *should* you get something, given that you aren't out of pocket?

My - and I suspect everyone else you know with one, and there are quite a few on my friends list - permanent account wasn't free. It cost what'd now be about five years of LJ annual paid-for membership.

We made a bet, basically, when they wanted the additional cashflow, that they'd still be around in five years time.

Plus it's not like there are that many of us.
