I suspect the 'story' about it being Muhammad Ali's 65th birthday today will have generated some 'what's the fuss?' (or even 'who?') thoughts from some.

All I can say is that from the mid 60s to the late 70s, he was simply the most famous person in the world. Even people who didn't know anything else about boxing knew about Ali.

It also turns out to be Keith Chegwin's 50th, but who cares about that? :)

And it's the 41st anniversary of the US dropping, via an accident, four H-bombs near a village in Spain I've visited (as has at least one other person on my f-list.) Only two of them scattered plutonium over the area, some of which is apparently still around...

There was a documentary on submarines recently and they had a section on the recovery of one of the bombs from the water.
