Yep, they're right, it's very very good. You've got about an hour to get to the Novello Theatre (Aldwych, London) before the last performance.

The people in charge of publicity for the show should be taken out and shot, because they've completely messed up the job of selling it properly.

I saw it in NYC. It's still running, but they don't promote it here either.

I thought it was the funniest thing I've seen on broadway. I was laughing from about 30 seconds in, until I left. Totally fabulous!

You're so right. I'd completely passed on it due to the ads thinking "oh, it's some sort of 1920s revival thing, looks same-y" until K came back from it and enthused at me on Wednesday, and took me to see it Thursday.

I'm going to be humming the monkey song for months...

Quite - 'a revival with Elaine Paige'. Might see it at some point, because of what she did thirty years ago etc etc.

I won't be :) because while they work perfectly in the piece, I don't think any of the songs are particularly good. Compare Little Shop of Horrors, which is the nearest thing I can think of, and where the songs are 'better'.
