At one point, the National Rail website's journey planner used to suggest that the way to get from Waterloo East to Waterloo was to take the train to Charing Cross, go to the tube station and then get the Northern or Bakerloo line to Waterloo.

Now it recognises that it's a simple walk, but... twenty minutes??

well, I always counted 15 minutes on the safe side for coming out of tube and reaching train in Waterloo, but then again my line was always one of the last ones.

If you're trying to fight during rush hour from WE platforms to a Tube platform, yes, that's not far off! Took me over 10 the other day from the 507 stop to the Jubilee line, and I knew exactly where I was going.
