Off to Newcastle for a few days with JA.

We caught the earlier of two connections, which gave us an opportunity to try and find something she would eat, but did mean that I missed returning a book at the local library. (It's supposed to open at nine, but there was no sign of life inside - and a small queue outside - at ten past.) Fortunately, they'll probably let me off the fine.

The building work at Blackfriars, where trains used to terminate, means that trains now carry on through London to Kentish Town (or further, we
now have some direct services to Bedford) so going to St Pancras is easy.

On walking across to King's Cross, food in hand, we discover that all East Coast services are delayed, with our 10:30 train expected to leave at 11:30. Argh,

Fortunately, it seems the line has a 'whatever cause' delay compensation policy, so it looks like the journey will be free. If I'd have known that, I'd have booked first class... :)

How old is she now? Is feeding her a problem? Luca isn't except when with grandpa who insists he must do whatever he wants during the two days a week with him, which confuses Luca so he behaves badly and is difficult.
