I'm not sure I can parse that sentence. The writer seems to think that since gay and bi-men are/have been the worst hit by AIDS, that they should be acknowledged somehow. Which I can see. But how does the above sentence make sense? Are gay and bi-men being infected against their will via hate crimes?
