TfL oddity

Yes, I know, there's a lot that's odd about Transport for London, and especially its website journey planner.

But for the past couple of weeks, L's copy of Firefox has been giving a '503 denied' error when trying to go to http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk

It works for my copy, and it works for her with Opera and Chromium. so it's something with her FF setup. Disabling the only two add-ons that could affect this doesn't help.

Any ideas?

Same computer or different one?

Windows or linux?

I can't get Chrome or Chromium to work on my work's XP box, it corrupts downloads even after I uninstalled it, removed all the settings crud manually and reinstalled it with a later version. :(

Probably a blow the OS away and restart either way - saves needle in haystack syndrome sadly.

Ah I assumed you'd already done that - blowing cookies away!

TFL journey planner uses cookies to store sessions, and from memory expired sessions give a 503 error. Try clearing the cookies; they should expire automatically, but perhaps one of them is being over-zealously retained.
