The George Bush 'surprised by supermarket scanner' 1992 story referenced in the program is real, but the Snopes.com page on it (linked to on their forum, for example) is missing - it redirects to Facebook. Coincidence? I think not... :)
This episode contains a good example of why I say this remake kept the intelligence - there's no 'I don't understand' explanation of quorum. You're expected to know what's going on in the Senate.
Do all male Democratic/Republican senators really all wear blue/red ties respectively?
