Oh, the two things I saw in London recently were Handel's Rodelinda and Verdi's Rigoletto, both at ENO.

The radio broadcast of the former is on iPlayer (as is the Royal Opera's new production of Don Giovanni) but you'd miss why the audience is laughing, especially in Act III.

Rigoletto was also very good. As with The Magic Flute I saw at the end of last year, this is a new production replacing one of ENO's classics, in this case Jonathan Miller's which set it in a Mafia family in Godfather-era America.

I think there are two more performances of each left. You'd enjoy at least one of them: Verdi's has more happening during each song, and those include one of the most famous tunes in opera; Handel's is more achingly beautiful.
