anyone who's ever tried to sell back a wedding or engagement ring after a relationship hasn't worked out will know this one well - you're unlikely to get back more than a fifth of what was originally spent, and that's if you're lucky.

Yeah! My mum tried to sell her engagement ring after my dad died, cos money was a little tight to say the least - she was furious when she found out how little it was worth - she thought my dad had palmed off a cubic zirconia or something! Still probably 99% of people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a diamond ring and cubic zirconia anyway!
