lovingbothA day or so ago came the news that the Iraqi equivalent of the British Museum had been looted.
It's sad (and an indictment of the US military) that it happened, but I wasn't that upset - I'd bet that the bulk of the contents will turn up sooner or later. It's worth money, and the looters knew that.
But the US military also stood by when the equivalents of the British Library were burned. And the historical records there have gone forever...
