Oooh - movement at last from Unison?

The previously appallingly biphobic Lesbian and Gay campaign of the Unison trade union is to debate becoming a LGBT campaign at its next conference, to be held in November.

I'm almost tempted to join...

The campaign does have some of the most rabid biphobes going: one lot reduced several women at an international conference to tears by demanding that a 'women only' session meant - despite what the actual organisers said - 'lesbian only'. But I can see it could be fun.

well, what can I say! I joined Unison because of the looming job evaluation and have found there involvment well worth the subs- BUT I know that the Lesbian/Gay section is, to say the least totally ignorant of bi issue's. It does seem that Unison are still several decades behind the rest of us, but it does need people like us to kick it into touch.....

I don't think they are ignorant - some of them at least know exactly what they're doing.

I mentioned a while back that the attendence reports of their meetings don't say 'x women and y men' but 'x lesbians and y gay men'!
