The rabid ones won - 37% of the vote.

Still, it's going to be fun hearing the presenters report on the progress of a bill they clearly don't believe in.

Cool. I don't think anyone could have planned this farce better. That's very, very funny, and just goes to show the quality of thking you get from Internet polls. Incidentally, I will leave the country as soon as humanly possible if it becomes law in its current form (seems to me that not only would it let Tony Martin off the hook, but would have provided Ian Huntley with a cast-iron alibi if he'd played it right).

However, that's clearly not going to happen, and I imagine it'll go through a number of changes before it gets drafted as an actual bill. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if the changes were to cause howls of protest from the people who proposed the bill in the first place. This one could run and run.

Interestingly I looked at the website soon after the poll closed and it was showing that #3 was leading with 35% of the vote and #5 (the rapid one) was 2nd or 3rd with around 25%. Unless the poll was badly out of date at that stage this suggest that the "rabid tendency" had mostly pitched in on the separate telephone poll which presumably wasn't being logged on-line.

Or has someone better information?

Fear not, this won't go anywhere. It's a dead duck from the start. Whole thing's been bloody ridiculous. I have no idea what I'm going to do once those twat blokes get hold of the R1 breakfast show. I guess I'll have to listen to Fox FM or something equally awful.
