Date: 2004-03-04 10:18 am (UTC)Because most stations aren't on a boundary between zones, and most people wouldn't want to get off, go to the ticket office, get another ticket, go back onto the platform and wait for another train...
... you can buy extensions to a travelcard, before you start, allowing your journey to go outside its zones.
The question is, how much does that cost?
