... do you delete files from it (after transferring them to your pc or online photo service or.. obviously) or get a new one?

There was a time when I did the former, but that was when a decent sized CF card cost lots. I think the 512k one was £95 when I bought it. Now, that would get me hundreds of times more storage - even with higher resolution cameras and RAW formats, it's hard to fill them up with still photos.

And we print important ones.

(Yes, this is prompted by the Wired hack's hacking.)

I reckon being backed up mostly to Flickr and to two external hard drives is probably enough, and that way it's the final versions that are backed up, rather than the unprocessed snaps.
But yes, I can see your reasoning.
